Definition: Invalid files


Artificial files, incorrectly created by automatic recovery utilities like Chkdsk, Scandisk, Vrepair, Norton Disk Doctor, and many others. The content of such files do not normally have any value. This is because it may contain only a fragment of the data of the original file, or it may contain fragments of several files.

A first-in-first-out (FIFO) data structure used to sequence multiple demands for a resource such as a printer, processor, or communications channel. The host adds objects to the end of the queue and takes them off the front.
